I'm interested in this topic for entirely different reasons from many of you.
After all, I'm a Bush supporter. No jokes, please, I'm here to talk to everyone no matter what their politics.
But I really like the idea of starting a web-based business - could be anything - in a country such as the Philippines where you could probably live on the proceeds from Google AdWords or blog ads. Make $1,500 or so a month and you could live on the beach with a maid, a live-in girl or boy (to taste, of course) and many of the luxuries of life. Try that in Malibu!
Why work on anything but the blog if you could get Western pay for ads while living a super-cheap Eastern lifestyle?
I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this idea, and if so, what the results were.
Let's get this board away from the Bush-bashing - which is rather stale stuff, love it or hate it - and back to the actual purpose: Discussing travel and long-term living outside of the US.

Re: Such an intriguing topic, no posts!
Sat, October 8, 2005 - 6:23 AMI rather imagine that you are talking to no one. All that have seen the writing on the wall, have long left the US.
You are a Bush supporter and the theme of your message tells me why. Get it while you can, David. The end of the "good times" may be coming down the road toward you.
